The Mahindra Scorpio Classic variant with captain seats in the second row and a spacious bench seat in the third row is worth considering. I believe it offers better safety than the Innova Crysta, especially in the third row.

Built to handle Indian roads with ease

I have been using the Scorpio Classic for over 9 months now, mostly for highway runs and a bit of village driving; no complaints on performance. The engine feels strong and steady, especially when you're carrying a load or climbing up steep roads.

Powerful engine, but a few things could be better

The engine is definitely the highlight, with lots of pull even in lower gears. Makes overtaking easy, especially on two-lane roads. Ride quality is more on the stiffer side, and bumps do come through, but it’s not uncomfortable. Cabin noise is noticeable at high speeds. I liked the space and visibility, though. For family trips or rough patches, it’s a reliable partner. A few more features and a bit more polish inside, and it’d be hard to beat.

Reliable and solid, just not modern

This is my second Scorpio, and I can say Mahindra stuck to the basics here. The engine is punchy and always ready to pull, especially when fully loaded. Gear shifts are better than before. That said, the touchscreen feels outdated, and there's no camera, just rear sensors. But it feels planted and safe and doesn’t rattle even after long runs.

Feels tough, drives strong

What I like most is the way it handles rough roads without any fuss. Even in the rain, the grip feels sorted. It’s not flashy inside, but it’s practical; the controls are easy to use, and there's enough leg space in the second row. I do wish the third row had front-facing seats, though.

Simple SUV that gets the job done

This was our first SUV, and we picked the Classic for its no-nonsense appeal. The drive is solid, you feel in control, and it doesn’t shake over potholes like smaller cars do. Interiors are okay, not premium, but they feel tough. The infotainment system works alright but feels a bit slow.
