For those driving 1500km a month, the running cost difference with an EV is significant. Petrol in an SUV costs about 6-7 rupees per km, while electricity in Bangalore reduces it to under 2 rupees. Nexon EV handles daily 60km easily, but a 300km highway run may need one charge stop.

The Nexon CNG offers a turbocharged engine and has identical torque of 170 Nm like the regular petrol. Power is down a bit at 100hp, but I think that will be enough for most situations.

Good Car with Drawbacks
While the Nexon EV is a good entry into the electric market, it does have its drawbacks. The range is adequate for city use but not for longer trips. Also, the higher initial cost can be a deterrent. However, the build quality and features are commendable.

Limited Battery Range
The Nexon EV is a good car, but the real-world range is slightly less than advertised. The charging infrastructure in my area is still developing, which can be a bit inconvenient. However, the driving experience is smooth and enjoyable.

It feels impressively resolved on our roads. Small bumps can barely be felt, bigger bumps and breakers are dispatched off competently and it remains planted at speed. It is running new low rolling resistance tyres, and that could quite possibly have made a trade off for grip. Breaking is impressive and feels fully comfortable to drive.

New motor tweaks the peak power and torque outputs. With the transmission and lowered the gearing so peak torque to the wheels is actually higher than before. End result is a claimed 0-100kmph time of 8.9 seconds, and a higher top speed of 150kmph. Not missing out on any of the performance with the drive modes.
